Finding a new look for an 19th century house in Amsterdam

Interior designers Erik Gutters and Sven Smit were originally brought in to advise the owners on the lighting of a property sandwiched between a contemporary building and a traditional 17th-century town house in Amsterdam. But in the course of the three-year renovation their involvement grew and eventually included re-designing the entire four-storey house, which they transformed into an easy flowing, relaxed family home.
