American artist Carmen's apartment straddles two floors of an eighteenth century house overlooking the River Garonne in the centre of Bordeaux. The grand salon is exquisitely white and furnished in perfect counterpoint with classic 20th century pieces. Their daughter is allowed to do as she likes in the big space she has been allotted taking precedence over her parents who have the modestly scaled bedroom.
