Mairead & Alexander have turned a former boarding school into a family home; UK

Interior designer Mairead and her husband Alexander had enough renovating experience to immediately recognize the solid bones of this unloved Victorian property - and decided to take the leap. Though the couple undertook painstaking work to restore the house's historic elements, they also added a more modern, glass-fronted extension that feels in perfect balance with the rest of the home.
