Standing in Shilstone’s fire-lit hall, with its hand-cut flagstones and a view down the elegant vaulted lantern-hung corridor, it’s hard to believe that the Devon home of Lucy and Sebastian Fenwick and their eleven-year-old son Ned began as a cluster of crumbling outbuildings and a lopsided farmhouse.
